All FDS programs have been created by a team of successful entrepreneurs, designers, and engineers who have learned their approach through launching countless new products, building brands, and scaling their own startups.
SARAH PREVETTE has a long history of innovative product development. A serial entrepreneur, she was the founder of well-known online properties Sprouter and BetaKit (acquired) and the co-founder of BrandProject LP – an investment firm that invests in and works with early-stage startups. Sarah launched Future Design School to empower all individuals to be creators and help turn great ideas into meaningful innovation.
SANDRA NAGY has dedicated her career to innovation in learning. She has spent the last decade as a senior strategist at Pearson Education – the world’s leading learning company. She received her Master’s in Technology Education from Harvard and has helped digitize classrooms across Canada through her expertise in experience design. Sandra joined Future Design School to build strong academic partnerships and develop efficacious youth programming.
VINCE DUQUETTE is an exceptionally talented engineer. Having been the lead developer at Sprouter.com (acquired in 2011) and BetaKit.com (acquired in 2013), Vince went on to start his own boutique development agency, HangarOne Digital, and join the faculty at Ryerson University. Passionate about working with startups, he is an active advisor at Ryerson’s Digital Media Zone and continues to mentor young entrepreneurs. Vince builds all new products at Future Design School.
KARIM AWAD is an award winning UX Designer and Developer. Having worked with organizations large and small to create beautiful, functional applications and websites, Karim has led successful projects with Hyundai Canada, Home Depot, CARE International and Walmart among many others. He is a proud alum from The University of Waterloo, an accomplished entrepreneur and an advisor to several startups. Karim is passionate about designing exceptional new products at Future Design School.
LESLIE MCBETH is an educator on a mission to empower students to solve the world's big problems. Leslie spent six year teaching at Greenwood College School where she used design thinking and project-based learning to engage students in real-world experiences. Prior to teaching, Leslie was an advocate for using design to improve the public built environment at the Design Trust for Public Space in New York City. Leslie joined FDS to help teachers create cultures of innovation in their schools.
VIVIAN PHILLIPS is a content marketing strategist with a passion for all things social. Vivian is a proud alumni of Wilfrid Laurier University, where she received a degree in Communication Studies and lead numerous initiatives focused on youth empowerment. Vivian has continued to champion young people at Future Design School through her development of a formalized leadership program to recognize high-potential students and contributes regularly to the company's Young Innovators program. Vivian joined FDS to share the amazing stories of youth innovation as well as the incredible work of educators, schools and corporate leaders who participate in Future Design School programs, courses and workshops.
RACHEL FRANKS is a proud Kanien’kehá:ka (Mohawk) and dedicated educator. She has over a decade of experience teaching in classrooms both at home and abroad, and continues to hone her skills as a design thinking practitioner. Rachel is passionate about empowering entrepreneurship in Indigenous communities across Canada and helping youth develop the skills and experience they need to succeed in the workforce. Rachel joined FDS to enable First Nations, Métis and Inuit youth to help put their ideas into action and have positive impact on the world around them.
ANNA FOAT believes engaging employees in practical solution design creates a problem-solving mindset critical to future proof large organizations. After a decade inside BlackBerry (1999-2011) and a subsequent role at IBM as Worldwide Managing Editor of IBM MobileFirst Platform she has an earned wide angle view of the opportunities and the challenges facing companies growing, adapting and disrupting. Anna joined FDS to inspire and challenge status quo thinking inside large organizations, directly engage employees looking to have an impact and to provide a path forward and the tools necessary for success.
